Back from Break

The game is not over yet. Players still remain.

I hope everyone enjoyed their spring break. To facilitate a speedy conclusion to this first round I am ruling that all remaining players must make attempts on your target once every two days instead of three to remain competent beginning on Monday morning.

All players who successfully eliminated their target in this first round will receive a new target at some point tomorrow.

The Final Stages

With only a handful of players remaining, we have officially reached the final stages of the game.

In this section each player will be paired off. Meaning each assassin will be locked in a battle of wits against a single foe. Your target will also be your assassin. No more blending into the crowd. The gloves are off and the real game begins today...

To facilitate this new organization of the target structure, each remaining player will recieve an email tonight identifying their adversary. Keep in mind, your new target may not be the same as your currently assigned target. If this is the case, your new target is your only target. If your target does not change then that person has been assigned to you. Remember, no matter the outcome the paranoia is almost over.

School? What School?

Yeah so I decided to not fail my classes and take some time to catch up on my assignments. This caused a temporary lapse in my ability to update the site. But, I'm back!

Lots of updates:

First and most importantly, the kills.

David Rayburn was killed by the Chief of police after being listed as incompetent.
Zach Samuel was killed by Billy the Dumb
Nic Goodman and Amanda Alvarez were killed by Adam Bittmann who was then killed by the assassin Jarell.
Gentry Atkinson was killed by a police officer when he and an accomplice Nich Heling made an attempt to kill the assassin Jarrel. Officer Angela Kelly was killed in the line of duty by Nich Heling just before Nich was killed by the assassin Jarrel.
Most recently, Greg Sain was killed by the assassin K outside of the Highsmith this morning.

The following players will be added to the police force as officers:
Jessica Matheson
Greg Sain
Adam Bittman
Lisa Simpson
Drew Ratliff

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Another Assassin, Sam Spragins, has been added to the incompetent list. If you see Sam he is to be eliminated with prejudice.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Only 11 players remain. If you have come this far you must be doing something right.

New targets to come.

That is all for now.
Try to stay alive.

Going up?

The assassin Tsvi calmly followed Muir Langley across the highsmith food court keeping him at a safe distance. Muir, unaware of the danger he faced, stopped at the elevator and pressed the up arrrow. Tsvi noticing his opportunity quickened his pace arriving just as the elevator doors opened. The two assassins stepped inside...

"What floor?" asked Muir.
"Two please." replied Tsvi.

The doors closed. Muir reached for the button panel and quickly realized he had been stabbed in the back. Spinning around he made eye contact with Tsvi before crumpling to the floor. Tsvi retrieved and concealed his weapon just as the elevator doors opened.

Muir Langley was killed by the Assassin Tsvi.

Todays Kills and your First Challenge

These are the official kills for today.

Ellen Cooper : Officer Neal Beckett
Jessica Matheson : Tsvi
Robert Norman : Officer Chris Johansen
Dustin Barnes : Nate Mannone
Josh McDaniel : morm-on

More kills to come targets will be distributed tonight.

A new ruling has been put into effect. If you wish to be protected by the "at work" clause of the rules you will be required to clearly label yourself "working." A prominent name tag would do. This is to prevent abuse of the rule to protect yourself against unexpected attacks. No working tag means no protection. This rule will go into effect tomorrow at 9:00 pm. That should give everybody enough time to hear about it.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now for the big news!

As a reward to those of you who check this site religiously, I am officially announcing that tomorrow is the day of your first challenge. At some point tomorrow, I, Nathan Brothers, your trusty umpire, will put on a red and white cartoon style target. While I am wearing the target I will be a special police officer. I will be able to attack and kill anyone I see with a weapon but killing me will not result in your addition to the wanted list. The result is indeed the opposite entirely, if you kill me, you will receive as your reward your target's entire class schedule.

When I am killed, I will remove the target ending the challenge. For this reason I will only be giving out one set of schedule information. Meaning to reap the rewards you must be the first to kill me.

Remember you can be killed by me when I am wearing the target, as in eliminated from the game, if not what would be the risk of trying that would make the challenge worthy of the reward. It also gives me an excuse to play for the day.

Good luck and I hope the best assassin wins.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To different news:

The police officer Scott Arritt was found guilty of aiding an assassin and so was killed today by members of the secret police. He is now a non-player.

Speaking of police:

I'm not adding police today because I am installing a new system. If you would like to become a police officer send me a email with "make me an officer" as the subject and the body and then sign it with your real name. Do this and you will be made an officer by the next day.

Good luck to all of you, Good hunting, and stay Alive.

Another day Another Death List

I hope everyone is having a great time playing assassins .

Here is another brief update to outline the events of today.

The death toll rises as 6 more assassins are officially eliminated.

Dead Player : Their Assassin (by alias)

Dylan Duffy : Never Lupus
Stephen Brooks : The Duke
Joanna Boone : Mustang Fury
Matt Richmond : Labrat
Dylan Moore : Jarell
Guy Nicholas : The Toxic Bag

Good efforts all around. Today had a few rules snags but nothing we couldn't work out.

It was an oversight on my part to not send clarification about the nature of the highsmith event this evening. I should have addressed it directly with an email notification. The deaths of the assassins Never Lupus and Lt. Commander Booya have been over ruled and they will be revived to active player status at 8:00 am tomorrow morning.

A good rule of thumb, if you are "at" something it's not a very good time to attack your target. If you do it is likely to be contested. I'll warn you literalists out there that I lean more toward flexible interpretations of the rules then rigid ones. If you aren't sure please ask.

"Patience is an assassin's greatest asset, choosing when to strike - his key to victory." - The Assassin Ace

Additions to the police force include:
Officers:
Neal Beckett
Guy Nicholson
Dylan Moore

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO ALL PLAYERS AND POLICE

The Assassin Robert Norman AKA Serpent Fox is wanted for the killing of an innocent earlier today. The assassin, in an attempted assault on what he called a fortified position, lobbed a grenade toward some "players" wielding weapons before fleeing the scene. The resulting explosion claimed the life of Aaron Stephens a visiting student from Appalachian, who was sitting near the intended targets of Robert's grenade. The two others in the blast radius were players who had been already killed and so were not effected by the attack.

As of this morning all members of the police force will be forwarded Robert's class schedule and should attempt to bring him to justice. Failing to make an attempt on a wanted criminal in the next 3 days will result in your addition to the incompetency list.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just so everyone understands if Robert survives for the next 72 hours he will be removed from the list and will no longer be wanted by the law.

That's enough excitement for one day. Try to stay alive.

True Friendship...

The assassin Mafia tensed as another group of four approached the counter where she stood. She meant to beat the mid day rush but the food court was filling up quickly and she could be attacked from anywhere. Pressing her back against the sneeze gaurd she second guessed the decision that had led her here but decided to waited for her order to be called.
While searching the room for potential threats her nerves released when she spotted a friendly face approaching from the entrace with open arms.
"Finally," she thought "someone i can trust," and steped forward into her friend's embrace.

"I'm sorry..." she heard, as pain of the knife lodged under her shoulder blade washed over her.

"Why?" she though as her breath left her.

The assassin Commador 64 has killed Angela Kelly.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Angela Kelly has been added to the police force.

Death Comes Swiftly

After spotting her target in the crowd, the assassin Static Entity fingered the knife in her pocket as she walked quickly toward him and his companion. Pretending to be engrossed by a cell phone conversation she approached within a few feet before drawing her weapon.

Motion out of the corner of his eye drew Fritz Harlow's attention just in time to see a knife plunged between Chris Johanson's ribs. Reflexively, from beneath the flap of his jacket he produced a well concealed revolver and loosed one shot with deadly accuracy before Irene Lopez de Carrizosa could react.

The assassins Static Entity and Deadman Walking have been eliminated.

On a related note additions to the police force include:

Akeem Bell
Chris Johanson
and
Irene Lopez de Carrizosa

Let the Killing Begin

Targets have been distributed and the game has officially begun.

If you turned in an application but didn't receive a target email, email me (nbrothers@gmail.com) and tell me.

Report everything that happens involving the game to me whether you are involved in something or just happen to witness it. Send me an email whenever anything happens and describe the event in detail.

When you send reports sign them with your alias so that I don't have to look up your pseudonym from your application. I can then easily post your report on the website without reveling your identity to the rest of the players.

Speaking of reveling identities....

We currently have 4 acting members of the police force,

The Chief :Fritz Harlow
Officers:
Chip Helms
Chris Martin
and
Jordan Skowronski

These are the only police as of the moment. When new officers are added they will be posted on this site. Until your name is posted you are not a member of the police force.

If you see an officer, lay low or run away. Killing police will only put you on the wanted list.

That's all for now chums.

Try to stay alive.

To All Assassins

The calm before the storm has set in...

All applications have been recieved and are currently being processed.

You will recieve an email from me just before midnight on Wednsday containing the name of your target. You must make an attempt to assassinate them before midnight on the 17th of February.

Before the game begins please consult the rules carefully so that we can avoid rules disputes. The rules can still be found here http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=d6nskg9_2jbmkqq.
Particularly read over the section concerning the rules of engagment. They are the most important section to know if you don't want the police waiting for you outside your classes.

As always let me know if you have any rules or game related questions.

Until the game starts, I recommend that you enjoy your peace of mind while you still can.

Apply Now!

I have decided that in order to make your lives a little easier I have put blank copies of the application outside my room, 207 Founders Hall, so that you only have to drop by my room to fill one out. Just slip it under the door if I'm not in.

As before you can still submit your application by email to nbrothers@gmail.com or print off a copy yourself from here http://docs.google.com/View?docid=d6nskg9_3f9q9wt and bring it by my room.

Remember that all applications are due by February 10th and the game will officially begin at 12:01 AM February 15th.

I recommend you start thinking of new and innovative weapons you can employ against your opponents, but remember to get any creative weapons in your arsenal cleared by me before taking them into battle.

If your suffering from assassin's block I have some ideas of my own that I'm willing to share. I did win last year's game after all.

Keep your questions coming.

Another rules addition

In order to dispel some of your worries I'd like to inform everyone that I will not pit roommates or suitemates against one another. Because of this decision, if the only players that remain at the end of the game happen to be either roommates or suitemates they can either declare a coalition victory or have a shootout in a prearranged location of the Umpire's choice. If any of the remaining players request the shootout option then all remaining players must participate.

rules change and addition

Hey everyone I just realized that there was an error in the rules concerning the number of targets each player will have. Each player will be assigned one - that is 1 - target at a time.

I also wanted to bring to everyones attention that the game will be open to Off-campus students.

To compensate for these players locational advantage one piece of their schedule information will be distributed to assassins who have them as their targets. For example : "Nathan Brothers usually walk from Rhodes-Robinson Hall to the Zaiger Deck around 4:45 pm of Tuesdays and Thursdays before leaving campus." I think this information will level the playing field by giving assassins at least two solid opportunities to make attempts on their targets while they are on campus.
